Biffy Clyro

August 31, 2008 at 5:12 pm (Music) (, , , , )

I am quite pleased with myself. I have just purchased some tickets to go see Biffy Clyro in Dublin in December. It’s great timing for the concert as well, as it’s just the night before my birthday morning.

MRI scan

August 27, 2008 at 3:13 pm (work) (, , , , , , , )

Away i went up to Dublin today to the Sports Injury Clinic in Santy, Dublin. Flew up WITH Aer Arann whom i have to say were a real pleasure to fly with. I ended up sitting beside the propellers and feic it where they close…eek.

So i arrive at the clinic, tick a few boxes on a form and change into scrubs and in i go to the MRI scan. The girl that was doing it was really nice and explained everything to me. I had to lay completely still. And then what happens for the half hour i’m in there, i start crying, now i’ve been told to stay perfectly still and i cry silent tears. Why oh why didn’t i just agree to bring support with me up to Dublin…duh! So i cried, i cried for wondering, “why the hell am i here”, i cried for the pain i am in. I wondered if the job i do is worth this hassle. I even cried a little about other stuff which i needed but it was for the physical pain mostly and the frikkin noise in the machine reminded me of a horror movie…eek!

But i breathed, i concentrated on my breath but those silent tears i cried were worth every single drop.

So i come out of the thing alive, get changed and am handed a cd with all the images on it. So cool, unfortunately i can’t read it and won’t find out anything about it until Friday or Monday.

Now i am home and relaxing with a few pain killers and a hot water bottle to my neck and ear, i deserve a wee snooze now. :)

Here’s a few clips to keep you entertained.

I have removed the clips until such a time i remove any of the personal details…double doh!

Day trip to Dublin

August 25, 2008 at 9:55 pm (Animals, Humour, Photo, Random, work) (, , , , , , , )

And so i woke at 6 this am to catch a Ryanair plane to Dublin to see a consultant about my neck, head, shoulder and arm injuries. Had to be the longest day ever but luckily i had the greatest company of two great gals.

So we arrived to Dublin at around 8 or something like that, it was too early to remember. We hoped in a cab to Santry shopping centre as the appointment was not until 2 pm in the sports injury clinic. We got the most hilarious taxi driver who really didn’t know what to think of us. Myself and mand were in the back talking about how well we got on in the Olympics with the Equestrian, i placed 3rd don’t you know and unfortunately missed the end because i feel of my horsey Mongo. The i started going on about how smelly i felt and we had no deodorant and the taxi driver gave me his sure…bless… I’ve been smelling like a boy all day, well perhaps a smelly boy with sure deodorant on.

So we arrived to Santry shopping centre and were amazed with the amazement of it, we spent 2 1/2 hours there, god only knows how. So we got some breakie…it was allright.  It hit the spot.

So after wandering around some shops and me finding a big dog racing around New Look and i got him and brought him outside… the security guard was scared of him. The girls were in hysterics because all they could see was me have bent over running around New Look and then they realised why and laughed some more. It was fun.

So we took another break and had some tea and then had some ciggies and made our way to the sports clinic and hour and a half early. I was seen by the consultant. He said my shoulder was okay… but i’m like why the frik is it and my arm so sore then. However, i do appear to have some damage done to the left side of my neck and head…well duh! And that i may have to see a pain specialist should i continue to have pain in my ear, the pain has been here the last four weeks.

So the next thing i know i’m out in reception and he is saying book me in for a MRI on my C-Spine… unfortunately they had no availability today so i have to go make the journey again on Wednesday. All i can say is i’m not paying for it so i’m not bothered where they send me. So anyone want to know what i’ll do doing on Wednesday, that will be it. But hopefully i’ll get a flight home straight after the scan, i ain’t booking it so haven’t a clue what the plans are. Good aul work living up to their responsibilities.

So we book a  cab after that and head out the front for a smoke, next thing i see the security guard coming out and i’m like girls he’s going to tell us to move away from the door, i was well ahead of him. So we moved a few feet away, then he came out again asking us to move of the grounds altogether. It was all quite humerous, especially when i asked him if he wouldn’t mind getting a brush and sweeping us dirty things away…

In front of the clinic was a lovely array of sunflowers, which unfortunately are on their way out but i got a snap of this one.

So we left the clinic via taxi, all expenses paid of course and made our way to the airport where we waited another 3 hours for our flight. During that time plenty of other funny stuff happened, but i can’t be bothered typing no more. Too much information been given this time of the night and i think i want to go to sleep, have a massage and physio in the morn.Oh gosh my dog just farted….eek!

Guinness Storehouse

August 17, 2008 at 2:55 pm (Uncategorized) (, , , , , )

Off i went very early last Saturday morning with a lift from Darren, we went on our merry way to the Guinness Storehouse

for  a photo walk around the store house. Our guide Lisa Fitzsimons was a gem, introducing us to the store house and been so approachable and friendly made the experience that more enjoyable.

The breakfast we received was really impressive. Now i didn’t try out a pint of Guinness but i did have a sip, i was so knackered after the early start that i think one pint and i would have been unconscious. Thanks Sinead for that flattering shot, could  i look any worse, i could get you back, but unfortunately you looked only too fabulous in the shots i took of you.

One really cool thing about this meet is that i met someone from Sligo who i hadn’t seen in over 4 years, it was really nice seeing and talking with Guy and listening to him talk about his new puppy.

So alls that’s left is to show you few shots from the day. I was using  a different camera than usual, but i got on grand with it. I’m probably putting too many shots onto this post but what the hell. There’s a few more over on pixie.

End of a season

August 14, 2008 at 10:51 am (flowers) (, , , , , )

While out in my back garden today picking up the dog poo…eugh i took at look at all the flowers i have planted in my lovely home.I love my herb garden which consists of lots of herbs from lavender, mint, oregano, corriander, rosemary and basil and so on. I love it, it is so beautiful to see the bees and butterflies flying from one flower to another.

So  up the back of the garden i had some plans to do a good bit of work with, i suppose that shall have to be put on hold now. But all my summer flowers are starting to die out, kind of sad really. My marigolds which i grew from seed are near dead they should really be beheaded.

But as we go to Autumn, a season whichi love especially when it’s dry and the leaves are all crispy..Forest Park in Boyle here i come. But anyway here’s a few of my back garden flowers.
